Question, i.MX6S camera inputs

Dear team,

I would like to ask about camera input of i.MX6Solo.

Can i.MX6 Solo support two camera channels that are connected to parallel port CSI o i.MX6 Solo at the same time?

Referring to the schematics of i.MX6 SABRE AI Base board, we can find the AD7180 is used for two camera inputs and sending out to CSI0 parallel of i.MX6.

In the case of using one CSI parallel port of i.MX6S, can multiple camera streams be handled by i.MX6S?

If possible, how many camera inputs at the maximum can be handled in such case?

My customer wants to feed multiple camera data into i.MX6S and record the multiple streams to storage device.

i.MX6S can handle two parallel camera inputs,

this is depicted on Figure 19-1. CSI2IPU gasket connectivity

In general also one can use usb cameras.

Please find the attached file for the block diagram around CSI input of the SABRE AI board.

On SABRE AI board, multiple cameras can be connected to CSI0 parallel port.

Maybe you are talking about the multiple camera inputs using different CSI port for each.

From the HW contracture of AI board, I think i.MX6Solo can handle multi camera data with single CSI parallel port.

Can I understand that i.MX6Solo can handle two camera inputs simultaneously?

And how many inputs at maximum can be handled with single CSI parallel port of i.MX6Solo?

I.MX6Solo can not handle multi camera data with single CSI parallel port,

i.MX6S can handle two parallel camera inputs connected to CSI0,1.

I am not ADV7180 expert, but I think ADV7180 can not work

with two cameras simultaneously. Only one camera can work at time.

I think you should contact Analog Devices with this question.

In genaral one can embed two camera streams to fpga and create

output stream as from one "virtual" camera and connect it to one CSI port.

Then one will have to parse cameras data from software.
