Power-On delay with MMPF0100

Hello everyone...,

We are designing based on the sabresd reference and use of the MMPF0100.

From what I can see, almost ALL commercial 'smart' devices have some form of power-on delay (2-4 seconds) to avoid powering up the system inadvertently. Strangely though, this very capable PMIC offers everything except this capability.

Does anyone have any suggestions for implementing a power-on delay with the MMPF0100 PMIC?

Thanks

Brent

Hi Brent,

Unfortunately neither the PMIC nor the processor has built-in circuits to support this type of delay. You can use the below circuit to create a delay.

Hi Everyone, Just following up on this older post. I believe that the processor might actuall contains logic to adjust the PMIC on/off time delay. I haven't tested it yet since our device already employs the required additional circuitry for the delay, but this may save someone else the added cost of this additional circuitry.....if it does work.

Grant... What do you think? I don't remember seeing this in the earlier versions of the documentation, so it may be simply newly documented.
