Porting Android 8.0 to i.MX6QP

We have a customer requirement of porting Android 8.0 to a i.mx6QP custom platform - understand that recent release from NXP is 7.1.2 and am sure there must be a team started working on Oreo (Android 8.0)

May we know the timeline for the same and is it possible to get a intermediate drop of the same so that we can continue to work on the same instead of starting from scratch
