I'm using imx7 with NXP i.MX Release Distro 5.10-hardknott (hardknott).
It is very slow in executing commands such as node and npm.
I checked with Debian 10 but it's working fine in that.
So is there any additional tuning requirement for that?

You migth try the L.510.52 BSP that have a lot of kernel enhancement and bug fixed from prevously kernels.
