NXP DDR Test Tool: ERROR: Can't open USB device!!!

Tested 50+ boards with DuaLite and everyone of them connects properly and test result is a PASS.

Trying to test dozen same PCB's but with i.MX6 Solo soldered and I get the above USB error.

Note: I do get the Windows "sound" for USB peripheral connection on both: DuaLite and Solo.

It's the Solo board SKU that does not connect to Test Tool only.

Is it possible, windows driver issue? Or else? Suggestions?

Again, same PCB I designed, inspected all good. Those with DL connect and PASS, those with Solo don't connect.

Looks like for i.MX6 Solo, the correct Target selection is  MX6DL. Script works with both DuaLite and Solo.

The board with Solo connects via USB no problem. Just like same board with DuaLite.

I noticed the following:

The NXP DDR Test Tool lists the following I.MX6 target devices:

   MX6DQ

   MX6DL

   MX6SL

   MX6SX

   MX6UL

   MX6ULL

   MX6SLL

while the NXP fact sheet under the link below, shows the following derivatives

.MX6UltraLite

i.MX6SoloLite

i.MX6SoloX

i.MX6Solo

i.MX6DualLite

i.MX6Dual

i.MX6DualPlus

i.MX6Quad

i.MX6QuadPlus

https://www.nxp.com/files-static/32bit/doc/fact_sheet/IMX6SRSFS.pdf

Question is, which one from the NXP DDR Test Tool target list applies to i.MX6Solo SoC ?

The MX6SL target suggests , it applies to i.MX6SoloLite

The MX6SX target suggests, it applies to i.MX6SoloX.

None of tow above are compatible with i.MX6Solo. Is it possible, the i.MX6Solo is not supported by NXP DDR Test Tool?

Hi Steve

one can check 24MHz clock, its stability by oscilloscope and VDDUSB_CAP voltage (3.0V).

Also one can pay attention to processor soldering, just for test one can replace

chip on one board. Try to connect jtag and check if processor is able to perform

some simple tests like gpio tggling

Best regards
igor
