Mini-PCIe HMC (3G Modem) Module

With respect to MCIMX6SLEVK schematics, for the section "Mini-PCIe HMC (3G Modem)" we would like to know the Module used for testing. Please recommend a module which works well with the available Mini-PCIe connector J8.

Hi Nigel,

We have tested Huawei's MU609 module with SLEVK.

However, you may need additional support from Huawei for testing different features.

And also, the module length will be little longer such that it will extent outside the EVK, need to handle carefully while operating.

Thanks for the advice! I have bought a MU609 module and I see what you mean by the module length. Not a problem though.

Can you advise where to begin with including the driver? I am using Freescale latest Android BSP.

Hi Nigel,

Hoping that you have the "Guide to Kernel Driver Integration" document from Huawei, we referred the same.

FYI , we worked on the Linux Yocto Kernel 3.10.53.

You may have to develop a serial application or make use of Minicom.

Few Queries:

• "mentioned in documentation.", can you please mention/share the document. In SoloLite
• Can you provide the driver path for the Linux Kernel.
• We came to know that Huawei EM770W is now EOL, so we have selected Huawei EM820W as a replacement, can we proceed with this, please comment.?
• Also we observed there is no entry for Huawei EM770W and as well as Huawei EM820W, is it that the driver is common and we need to add the entry of the Module? Is it correct

Dear Igor,

As per the Sololite EVK we have, it looks like the module has to be Half Mini PCIe Form Factor (26.7x30x4.5mm), whereas the Huawei EM770W is Mini PCIe(51x30x4.5mm). Please let me know whether any Half Mini PCIe Module was Tested with the SoloLite EVK.
