Hello everyone,
I'm stuck here with an 8MPLUS-BB Evalboard together with an 8MPLUS-LPD4-CPU-Module.
All I want is to compile a linux-kernel and devicetree which is able to display something on HDMI.
Sadly I had to realize that the board and the imx8mplus-evk.dts aren't fully compatible and that the board uses a LVDS-to-HDMI-Bridge which also isn't available in the kernel (https://github.com/Freescale/linux-fslc).
Am I using the wrong Kernel? Which one is the correct kernel to properly bring up all the features of the board? Where can I get the sources for this board?
The official kernel for iMX platforms can be found here : https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx/
The latest release seems to be lf-5.10.52-2.1.0, and you can find the dts of 8MPLUS EVK here : https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx/tree/arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale?h=lf-5.10.52.... Possibly it is one of imx8mp-ddr4-evk.dts or imx8mp-evk.dts.
Hope that helps,
Khang
Hi Khang,
yes, this was a great help. Thank you.
I downloaded and compiled the i.MX-Kernel and HDMI ran out of the box. Nice.
I hope the necessary drivers and devicetrees will find their way into mainline-kernel as well.
Greetings
Steffen
Good!
