Interrupt polling using External pin on imx8m Mini eval kit

Hello,

I'm trying to poll an external interrupt (event handler) through imx8mm eval kit. I tried gpiochip5 line 0 for external pin number 31. It is giving me an error. I think becuase it is not an interrupt pin. Is there any pin that can be use for this purpose without going through PCA*** IC. If not, can you guys help me how can I make my polling pin.
