IMX6S IPU support for RGB

Hi All,

i like to know whether imx6s ipu support RGB data from mipi sensor and conversion to YUV420 for h264 encoding with vpu. The sensors are low-light featured which only give RGB data.  From IMX6 reference manual in section 9.2.1.1 Camera Ports RGB is listed.

Also i am confused with Raw (Bayer) and RGB format. Could anyone please tell me the difference between them.

i.MX6 can receive and save a raw Bayer data with no additional overhead. The i.MX6S IPU can capture bayer raw data, but you would need to first capture the data and then process it by software to go from bayer to RGB and then feed it to the IPU.
