What are the requirements on the OOB area when writing the FCB block? Can I write whatever I want in the OOB area associated with the FCB block or does it have to be empty?

I understand, but it would be really nice to know if I am allowed to put other information in the OOB area of the FCB block? Also do I really have to write the FCB block with raw write? Or can I write it with standard ECC?

Hello,

  It is highly recommended to use the kobs-ng utility for writing NAND FCB.

Please refer to MFG tool "NAND Flash" configuration in ucl2.xml

Kong-ng is part of NXP Linux BSP.
