What is maximum RAM size SOC supports? I am planning to have 4 chips in 2 rank system? Is it 8 GB (4 pcs 16Gb 16bit modules)?

Hi Ivo
for ddr memory support one can look at sect.2.1.1.3, 2.1.2 Cortex-A53 Memory Map,
sect.9.2.1.2 Features, sect.9.3.1.1 Features
i.MX 8M Mini Applications Processor Reference Manual

Hi igorpadykov
As you replied Ivo half a year ago, the maximum addressable DDR memory size can be found in the reference manual. In section 2.1.2, I found this table:
For the first 5GByte region, the description says "Quad-A53 only". Does this mean that the Dual, DualLite, Solo, and SoloLite can only address 3GByte?
Any clarification would be very helpful.
peterlischer it sure seems that way
igorpadykov I'm also curious, since we're using i.MX 8M Mini also (Variscite's DART-MX8M-MINI) though it seems this vendor limits to 4GB currently
Hi Malachi
max. size is described in sect.2.1.2 Cortex-A53 Memory Map as
replied above. Vendors may choose own configurations based on
specific design requirements.

OK thank you. I was getting confused I believe with manual IMX8MDQLQRM "i.MX 8M Dual/8M QuadLite/8M Quad" - looks like a red herring.
