Dear @AnnuB1z ,

You're close — since U-Boot shell is accessible and you’ve backed up the NOR contents along with system images (boot.img, kernel.img, ramdisk.img), you can restore your system using U-Boot commands.

Recommended Recovery Steps (Over USB or TFTP)

  1. Set up U-Boot for USB or TFTP Transfer:

    For USB Mass Storage (e.g., USB stick):

    • Format USB to FAT32.

    • Copy boot.img, kernel.img, ramdisk.img to root.

    • In U-Boot:

      usb start fatls usb 0 fatload usb 0:1 ${loadaddr} boot.img
    • Flash back to NOR (example; adjust address/partitioning based on your board):

      sf probe sf erase 0x0 +${filesize} sf write ${loadaddr} 0x0 ${filesize}

    For TFTP:

    • Connect Ethernet.

    • Setup TFTP server, put images in TFTP root.

    • From U-Boot:

      setenv serverip <TFTP_SERVER_IP> setenv ipaddr <BOARD_IP> tftp ${loadaddr} boot.img sf probe sf erase 0x0 +${filesize} sf write ${loadaddr} 0x0 ${filesize}
  2. Verify NOR Flash Layout: If your original backup includes mtd0-mtd2 binaries, you can flash them back directly:

    sf probe load <img> to ${loadaddr} sf erase 0x0 +<size> sf write ${loadaddr} 0x0 <size>
  3. Reset Boot Environment: After flash, reset environment:

    env default -a saveenv reset

Let me know which method you're using (USB or TFTP), and I can help with exact commands or offsets. You’re nearly there — just need to push those images in cleanly.

Best Regards,
Ashutosh Nama.

Hello @AnnuB1z

I hope you are doing very well.

Can you pelase try resetting all the environment variables?

u-boot=> env default -a
u-boot=> saveenv

Please try and let me know.

Best regards,

Salas.

I did but that didn't work . this is where the issue ----is.main loop boot env = run bootargs;booti mmc1 ${bootpartition}
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
boot form partition 1(bootA)
booti: bad boot image magic
boot error, will boot easyrecovery!!
BSP A is valid
BSP B is valid

I backed up my NOR flash memory and have it in two formats original mid0-mtd2 binary along with boot.img/ramdisk.img/kernel.img . I just don't know how to reinstall them
