Hi all,

I made board that uses I.MX28.

In power part, i used "Battery powered application model" for decreasing I.MX28 heating. "VDD5V model" runs LinReg always. I think, it makes big heating. My board should operate at least 10 years nights and days.

Anyway, the problem is I don't want to use BATTERY for reducing the board cost.

What is happen if i remove battery in "Battery_powered application model"?

In this case, BATTERY and DCDC_BATT pin are floating. Does it make no problem?

And, in this case "VDD5V source only model" is the best way?

I really really appreciate to reading this.

Hi Eunseok

one can use VDD4P2 power node instead BATTERY and DCDC_BATT,

this is described in AN4199 4.1.2.1 VDD5V source only: hardware configuration

Figure 9 shows connections for BATTERY and DCDC_BATT, leaving them floating

not recommended since may cause problems in low power modes.

Best regards

igor

Why is it problem in LOW POWER MODES?

I can't find the reason.

And how to distinguish between HIGH POWER MODES and LOW POWER MODES?
