How to upgrade kernel?

Hi all,

I'm using LTIB on Virtual Machine with linux kernel 2.6.35, and I would like to upgrade kernel to another version. What should I do?

I think that I need one linux kernel, one imx patch, like 'linux-2.6.XX-imx_XX.XX.XX.bz', and some files else.

But where can I get it and how to use them?

I have the same question. I'm using kernel 2.6.31 on imx25. Have trouble to use the CAN. I got a patch for CAN but the patch is based on 2.6.35. Is there step by step quide to upgrade from 2.6.31 to 2.6.35?
