Hello, NXP engineers. On our development board, we are trying to burn the iMX93 M33 core program to eMMC using the UUU tool. however, there are some problems in the process.

Background of the problem:
1. Have taken boot image and imx-mkimage source repository from iMX93 Linux BSP version and put the content into imx-mkimage-lf-6.1.22_2.0.0/iMX9 boot image folder.
2. We used \SDK_2_14_0_MCIMX93-EVK\boards\mcimx93evk\demo_apps\hello_world project's sdk20-app.bin to generate the iMX93 M33's flash. bin file using imx-mkimage's single boot mode. bin file.
3. Both the NXP evaluation board and our development board have 2GB DDR memory, but there are different DDR data line sequences.
4. In the NXP document "Getting Started with MCUXpresso SDK for MCIMX93-EVK.pdf", there are related burning steps in chapter 7 section.

Problem Description:
After writing the flash.bin file to the eMMC memory using the NXP evaluation board, the M33 core and the A55 core boot in eMMC boot mode without any problems. However, after performing the same operation on our development board, the M33 core can work normally, but the A55 core will be stuck in eMMC boot mode. On our side, we analyze that there should be a problem with the iMX9 boot image folder, and some files may need to be modified. Below is the contents of the system printout logo when the problem occurs:

M33 core boot logo:

hello world.

A55 core boot logo:

Our problem is centered on the contents of the iMX9 boot image folder. We need to solve the following problems:
1. Is it necessary to modify the image file generated by U-Boot to meet the needs of the M33 program? If so, what is the basis for the modification?
2. Do we need to modify some files in the iMX9 boot image folder according to the specific DDR data sequence of our development board? If so, how to generate the files that need to be modified?

Thank you very much for your help, looking forward to your reply, have a nice life!

From the kernel crash, it is memcpy, which may be a problem with the DDR address. You can try printing to see which address memcpy copied from to that address, and whether this address is out of bounds in your 2GB DDR address.

Best regards

Thank you for your response. I have resolved the issue. The reason was that our board design did not include a USB host-to-device switching circuit, so removing the "usb-role-switch" property from the device tree was sufficient.
