How to change the revision of software or add software before or after "repo sync" / "bitbake"

Hi all

    I'm using Imx6 (mcimx6u7cvm08ac) with kernel 4.1.15.

    Some time ago, I got a latest version 4.14.98. But the Qt version is 5.10 (in the bitbake list).

    I want to rebuild the file system with Qt the revision (5.12.0 or higher) I chose.

    I found the output of "repo manifest", there is the revision of meta-qt5 (xml).

    Can I change it to the revision I need?

    What about Alsa or other software I want?

You can refer to the method https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/Setting-up-Qt-Creator-to-build-for-i-MX6... if you want to.

But we recommend to use the version align with NXP released BSP.

I browsed that page, it is not about how to build Qt for imx6.

OTOH, I want to know how to change the other software about the system (e.g. ALSA, Xserver, Wayland, python).
