How does Serial Downloader work?

I am writing regarding the Serial Downloader Mode. I am trying to understand how it works. What is actually loaded when the SoC boots in Serial Downloader Mode? What component is responsible for controlling this process? I do not know whether this behavior is hardware-dependent, but if it is, I am referring specifically to the i.MX93 EVK.

I hope you are doing very well.

The ROM code is the component in charge of Boot mode selection. You can refer to the chapter 9 of the i.MX93 Reference Manual for more details.
