FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details

Every time I modify the code and click download for the first time, it throws an error (a popup prompts "The flash loader program reported an error", and the debug log shows "Processor did not stop on hardware reset").

However, if I do nothing after the error and simply click download again, it successfully flashes the code and enters normal debugging.

Could anyone explain what causes this? How should I configure IAR or the debugger settings to avoid this issue? Thanks!

The current latest version is SDK_26_03_00_FRDM-IMXRT1186, please use the latest SDK.

In addition, please check whether the flash loader is 

$TOOLKIT_DIR$/config/flashloader/NXP/FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board. 

If not, please modify it to this file.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding your suggestion to switch to FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board, I have two questions:

Missing File: My IAR version is relatively old, so I do not have the FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board file in my current environment. Could you please kindly provide this single .board file for me?

Hardware Mismatch: The target flash memory on my board is physically connected to the FlexSPI2 interface. If I switch the loader to FlexSPI (which usually targets SPI1), will it still be able to flash and program successfully?

When I changed the configuration to flexspi_nor_debug, I was able to reproduce the issue you reported. I am currently investigating the root cause and working on a solution.
