External RTC

HI,

We are using internal RTC with a crystal of 9pF load capacitance and two 16pF capacitors on i.MX6S processor. The clock is about 2 to 3 seconds lagging behind on every 2 days. How this can be corrected?

We are thinking to use external RTC, which will provide clock on I2C lines to processor. Will there be any issue in booting or timing on using external RTC?

A. No, there should be no any issue. You just have to slightly modify the software to load the value of the external RTC to the internal one each boot time.
