Hi Team,

We are currently conducting a feasibility study on utilizing an IMX8MP based System on Module (SOM) to facilitate multi-display support with independent control for each display. In our exploration, we have encountered some challenges and are seeking clarification to proceed effectively.

Upon examining the Wayland desktop shell, we have noticed support for extended screens; however, our objective is to attain independent control over two displays. In our attempts to address this, we have experimented with the Qt framework(wayland compositor and IVI shell) to generate windows on the secondary display. Unfortunately, we have encountered difficulties in precisely controlling the window positions within the Wayland compositor.

We appreciate any insights or guidance you can provide to help us achieve our goals.

Thank you for the update. I've reviewed the procedure, Qt has been successfully enabled in our image, allowing us to run the UI application on the target device.

Our current objective is to independently control two displays. However, the Wayland compositor, by default, operates in desktop mode with an extended screen. Our primary challenge lies in the inability to fix windows to specific positions on the screen due to the Wayland compositor.

We are actively seeking solutions to achieve independent display control. Any insights or suggestions on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.
