Do we need a R115 in i.MX6SLEVK ?

I would like to know why a R115 in i.MX6SLEVK is needed.

Could someone tell me the reason for it ?

No, R115 is not mandatory required. Moreover, it is marked as DNP on the i.MX6SL EVK board schematic.
