Config and using gpio interrupt

Hi 

I'm using IMX6ULL and I trying to config and use a gpio interrupt but I don't have any experience in using interrupts. Anyway I know I should enable interrupt in .dts files but I dont have any idea how can I use them.

Is the device tree only way to do this? 

How can I register a handler in my code for a specific interrupt?
