Hi all,

I am starting to work with the IMX93 Evaluation Kit and we were wondering wherever or not it can work with Android OS, I do see that Android is offered for i.MX8 line of processors - but there is no mention of i.MX9 in documentations or forum (as far as I can tell).

Is Android OS BSP for i.MX93 in the works or are there no plans to have Android running on i.MX9?

Thanks in advance,
Ivan

Starting with Android 10 we had to exclude the i.MX devices which do not have a 3D GPU. Even if the CPU power of an i.MX 93 would be ok for a smaller Android based product, there are some Android requirements which are not met, especially the GPU + Extensions.

In the end it would be technically possible to implement it, but from the marketing point of view it doesn't make any sense to create an NXP proprietary Android version.

Regards,
Bernhard.
