About MediaCodec API on Android4 .4.3 with i.MX6Q-SABRE-SDB

Dea all,

We run Android4.4.3 BSP on i.MX6Q-SABRE-SDB board.

We want to decode WMV video file by using MediaCodec API.

However, WMV file does not be decoded.

We suspect that MediaCodec API cannot call HW Video Codec of i.MX6.

Can MediaCodec API call HW codec of i.MX6 for WMV decoding?

Would you tell me the method if it is possible?

Hi

i.MX6 supports HW decoding of WMV.

I think WMV library is not openly available , you need to contact Local FAE.

Do you mean omxplayer_source?

If so, we have already got this from your Loacal FAE.

We suspect that MediaCodec API does not support WMV because WMV library is not openly available.

WMV codecs are restricted distribution codec package,

distribution is done via controlled access extranet site and requires

agreement to be in place with Microsoft. Please refer to attached

Extended Codec Release Notes p.3, 9.

I think that you show fsl_ms_codec.tar.gz package.

We have already installed this package.

May I understand that MediaCodec API does not support WMV?
