For our newer devices such as MCXW71, we recommend the use of MCUXpresso for VSCode. You can find a guide on how to import the MCUXpresso SDK repository here: Working with MCUXpresso SDK
You can also obtain the SDK on MCUXpresso SDK Builder. Click on "Select Development Board" and search for the FRDM-MCXW71 board, there you can choose from SDK versions and click build SDK. Afterwards you should be able to download it from your SDK Dashboard.
In any case, we highly recommend using the latest SDK version.
