■Question for IW612

Is there difference of Minimum SNR or RSSI required for MCS7 among the following condition? If so, could you tell me the value?

(1)WiFi standard difference
・802.11n
・802.11ac
・802.11ax

(2)Frequency difference
・2.4GHz
・5GHz

In our evaluation, 802.11n measured greater throughput distance attenuation than 802.11ax when using MCS7 in combination with 5 GHz. 802.11ac measured a lesser but significant distance attenuation than 802.11ax.

We suspect that this is due to the minumum SNR or RSSI required to maintain MCS7 and it may vary depending on the above condition.

■Question for 88W9098

Is there difference of Minimum SNR or RSSI required for MCS11 among the following condition? If so, could you tell me the value?

・5GHz & 802.11ax & Dual Antenna
・2.4GHz & 802.11ax & Dual Antenna

In our evaluation, the 1st one measured greater throughput distance attenuation than the 2nd one. I'd like to know whether this is caused by a difference of the minumum SNR or RSSI required to maintain MCS11, or not.

Hello @jun_1

Our datasheet give minimal receiver sensitivity for you reference. You could check.

Best Regards

Shaun

Thank you for your reply. As for RSSI and transmitter power, Is there any difference between 802.11ax MCS7 and 802.11n MCS7?

I checked IW612 data sheet, but I couldn't find the value of 802.11ax MCS7.

Hello @jun_1

Sry for late reply, I just back to office from CN New Year vacation.

802.11ax support up to MCS11 which backward compatibility 802.11n MCS7.

So MCS7 is same for 802.11ax and 802.11n.

Best Regards

Shaun
