Freescale Cup Shield Speed Sensor + KL25Z processor

Probably a silly question, though I am hopelessly lost.

How does one work the speed sensor on the Freescale Cup shield? Any header files available? Example code?

What i've done so far is connect a hall-effect sensor to the speed sensor port and I can't analyze the data. Though I have verified that it works with the help of an oscilloscope.

While I'm at it, does the Freescale Cup Shield affect the functions of the accelerometer in the KL25Z. Isn't there a standard header file one can download and use?
