Have you seen that MathWorks is now a Global Freescale Cup Sponsor?
Check out this example of Simulink developed by the Politecnico of Torino running on the Freescale Cup car
All,
I've released my car racing code just in time for Easter on mbed.org
http://mbed.org/users/redxeth/code/TFC-RACING-DEMO/
Please feel free to download and try it out-- for those that are or were stuck in getting their cars working. It would be great to see folks improve it as well! I know I plan to.
Daniel
MathWorks has also released a free Support Package for Simulink that allows you to design your controllers, develop your algorithms, and then load the executable onto your car's FRDM-KL25Z without ever writing any C or C++.
Check out more information at the Mathworks Freescale Cup page. This support package comes with examples for how to control your car, as well as an App that has additional examples which show how to visualize live camera data from your car and provides a template to start from for the competition.
The examples from the Support package can be view online:

Code Verification and Validation with External Mode
As always, if you have any question you can email me at freescalecup@mathworks.com.
@james can you please explain all that
how it is done in matlab
I am new to matlab and simulink
james.kristoff mentioned that there is a lot of information on the MathWorks support page. Please check this out as it has a lot of great info.

Hi all,
I am intending to take part in Freescale Cup after got interested by the learning curve and gaining of skills it would provide during development of intelligent car.
I do know how to use MATLAB and Simulink very well; however I am struggling to kick -start this project. I do not know how to progress step by step to get to completion. Therefore, I would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Waleed

To whom it may concern,
I am Adam Leung representing Pennsylvania State University and have some inquires for NXP Cup 2016 in the North America Region specifically in the East Coast. I was wondering if there was someone I could email about registering multiple teams for this competition.
You can reach me by email avl5448@psu.edu or through this post. I look forward from hearing from you.

Hi Adam,
many thanks for the feedback. I am checking on the current contact for NXP Cup N.America. Stay tuned
Hi Adam,
The contact for the East Conference is GordyCarlson. Feel free to reach out to him.
Adam,
The online registration page is located here.... The NXP Cup - North America
If you need specifics about the RIT facility and logistics during the RIT IMAGINE event that the NXP CUP is a portion of.....our academic sponsor/facilitator at RIT is Roy Melton at rwmeec@rit.edu
He would be able to describe the venue and day of event info. As there will be 40,000+ attendees at the RIT IMAGINE event.... he can likely describe parking, load in, setup logistcs, etc.
-Gordy
Hi,
Is there a deadline for teams to register for central America NXP cup?
