Regarding SSD interfacing with T1042

Hello All,

In one of our current prototype designs, we wanted to interface an SSD with the T1042 processor. Normally we would use SATA as the interface. My question is weather we can use PCIe x2 lane from the 85h configuration to mount an NVMe SSD.

Also, does T1042 support M.2 SSDs on either SATA or PCIe?

Thank you. Your help in this case is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Souvik

Look at the following page about similar problem:

Try to test your board using SDK 2.7:

Hello Pavel,

Thank you for your reply. However, my question is whether M.2 form factor SSD is supported with the SATA interface present in 86h configuration of T1042.

Also, as an alternate in 85h configuration of T1042, whether M.2 NVMe SSD is supported in the PCIe x2 lanes of the processor.

Thanks.

The T1042 supports SATA if the SRDS_PRTCL_S1 is set to 0x86.

See the Figure 31-1 in the T1042 Reference Manual:

Thank you for your confirmation.

Can you also let us know whether we can use an SSD with the PCIe x2 lane present in 85h configuration?

The T1042 SerDes does not support SATA if the SRDS_PRTCL_S1 is set to 0x85.
