Regarding this thread on USB micros, I'm curious what the licensing details are for the USB stuff. The USB08 document DRM002 is very helpful, and mentions some licensing options on pages 78-80 for Windows drivers. But it's not very clear to me what level of license is required.

For instance, with a USB slave device that functions as a Windows pointing device (generic mouse), would the generic HID driver in Windows be sufficient?

Answering my own question, but so far it seems that my initial gut feeling was correct. My local rep agrees. In my application, the HID driver scheme should be sufficient.
