Hi,
My 30-days Evaluation version of CodeWarrior 5.7.0 expires soon. I bought a dongled version (update of the free special edition). Unfortunately I have no CD yet, wehre the licensing software FLEXlm is available. I tried to download it from ftp://ftp.metrowerks.com/pub/flexlm/installers/win/. but cannot access this FTP server.

Can you tell me where I can get the FLEXlm software instead?

Thanks,
Andi

Check this thread which contains a discussion of a similar problem, along with a reference to a web page where you download the dongle software. HTH.

I downloaded and installed these files, the dongle is found in the System Settings tab of the licensing software. But I have no license file, I don't know where to get it from. When I start the IDE the error message attached appears and I cannot compile the project.
I removed the installation and reinstalled the special edition. I'm still waiting for the delivery of the CD with the update of the special edition from Arrow. Maybe the required files are on this CD. The CD will be delivered in 2 weeks only, but I should be able to work now!

Can you help me? Thanks, Andi

Hi Andi,

Do you know you can get a FULL license limited to 30 days ?
Have you already requested it and it expired ?
In both cases, I'm sure we will find a quick way !

The full permanent license file is unlikely to be on a CD as it is personalized (locked to a computer, dongle...)

Cheers,
Alban.

Check in C:\flexlm for a license.dat file, or it can be also located in C:\Program Files\Freescale\CW for HC12 V4.6. You should already have a license.dat file somewhere, because even the Special Edition CodeWarrior requires a license.dat file to function. If it's in an oddball directory, move it to the either of the directories that I've mentioned.

If you can see the dongle ID, then you want to use it to authorize your existing software. Start the IDE, and go to Help | License Authorization... then enter the dongle ID number there. Be sure to consult the sequence of steps in the forum thread I pointed you to before attempting this. You might also want to give the license folks a holler at license@freescale.com before starting to see that you have everything.

Hello,

I found the license.dat file in the folder you mentionend. The dongle is connected and recognized. I tried to activate the license (menu Help | License Authorization), but got an error message. I assume it's because I don't have a License Authorization code -> what do I have to fill in this field?? Dongle ID doesn't work. As I mentioned, I will get the box with the CDs in 2 weeks time, probably the code will be in that box (according to the FAQ). But I should be able to work now!

I also tried to register the product, but I have no Registration Code.

What can I do for now? Can you send me another 30days Eval license?

Thanks for your help,
Andi

Check your e-mail. Licensing has given me a 30-day temporary license.dat that I've just sent to you.
