But lost the machine that had Code Warrior 5.1 on it. I have loaded Code Warrior V2.1 onto a Win 10 machine and it seems to work but of course getting a license from Metrowerks is no longer an option. How do I get hold of V5.1 so I can use the board again? And of course will I have to pay for a product that I already paid for again? I note Element 14 is still selling these boards (5 in stock). I think if I buy one I will still have issues. USBDM programmers are still available via aliexpress and of course the 9S08 is not end of life.
Hi Peter,
I assume you refer to CodeWarrior for MCUs v5.1 (classic IDE).
For building the project you can use latest CodeWarrior for MCUs 10.7. - Free Special Edition.
This version offers 64KB of object code which is more than enough for almost all S08.
I've downloaded/installed USBDM v4.12.1 and it seems it supports CW 10.7 as well:
Note:
I don't have any USBDM hw so I cannot test if it really works.
Hope it helps.
Stan
Thanks Stanislav.
I eventually realized that was the case and installed V10.7.
I have built demo code for the demo08QG board and all is fine.
It is likely I will buy a USBDM or two for production purposes so nice to know it is supported.
Onward and upward with some Sigfox development for the Agri Tech market.
My last effort, although not using the S08, can be found here...
