CodeWarrior: Floating to Node Locked license conversion

Hi CodeWarrior support! We're about to purchase CodeWarrior Development Studio for HCS12(X) Microcontrollers (Classic IDE) v5.2, Standard license but still hesitating between Floating and Node Locked type. We'd prefer Floating but our license server, running on Ubuntu 12.04, would be behind a firewall and we're not sure whether there will be difficulty for the connection to get through. Would it be possible that we buy Floating and if we could not solve the server authentication problem, convert the Floating to Node Locked license? Thanks.

Hi,

It's possible to replace a Floating registration to a NL one.

For your floating license I recommend you to refer to the doc:

    http://cache.nxp.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/brochure/FLTLICINSTWINBR.pdf

On community you will find an interesting post too:

How to install/check if my floating license file is running ? (known issues)

Depending of our network (complexity of), as explained in the doc posted on community, the port-daemon@host could be the unique solution.

If you will have some problem another option is to use the floating license file as a Nodelocked.

In fact the Server could be the PC you want and the Server can be a client too so the same PC.

This is working fine.

Most of the time I uses this configuration to perform some floating license tests.

Sometimes the license file generated for classic version could include wrong keys for the IDE and Processor Expert.

If you've some problem about it , please contact us.

We can correct the license file.

However this must be done manually and we need your license file to do that.

To do that I recommend you to log the question in Case system.

For details please refer to the post:

How to log an issue in Case system instead CRM (Service request - not used anymore)?

Regards

Have a great day,
Pascal
