Can I find reference register setting for new project using MMA8693?

Now I just want it to sense significant motion. (ex : stop → move)

I think it might be found on GUI.

Hi HJ,

Could you please specify the exact part number of an accelerometer you are using? If it is the MMA8653FC, then you can use the embedded motion detection function. For more information on this function including example register setting please refer to the AN4070.

I hope it helps.

Regards,

Tomas

Hi Tomas,

I deleted the previous question because I found the problem.

There was a problem with threshold.

I have another question.

Is it possible to make the MMA8653 more sensitive regardless of DC factor such as gravity?

I think that if I use MMA8652 and its HPF, it could be easy.

But my customer wants to find the way using MMA8653.

Please give me a tip.

Thank you,

Hi HJ,

Sorry for my delayed answer, I was out of the office yesterday.

The threshold resolution for both motion and transient detection functions is 0.0625g/LSB regardless of the selected dynamic range and there is no way to increase it. You are right that the transient detection function is available on the MMA8652FC only and that it analyzes high-pass filtered data unless the HPF_BYP bit is set.

Regards,

Tomas
