Hello! We use the Pressure Sensor MPX5700ASX. Could you explaine: is it normally or defect of sensor when we have a leak of air from a back hole?

Hi Andrey,

No, it is not normal to have a leak of air in the back hole of the device. This can only means that the internal gel/diaphragm is damaged.

This kind of issue is typically caused due to an excessive pressure applied to the sensor, a negative pressure (vacuum) was applied to the sensor, temperatures below/above the specified in the datasheet or because it has being used to measure pressure in a different media than “Dry clean air”. If none of this is true for your case, then it is probable that the pressure sensor is defective.

Hello! Thanks for your reply. But we have one more question: could it cause damage of sensor when there was a sharp pressure relief of compressed air with the capacity of 60 litres from 500 kPa to zero?

Hi Andrey,

That should not be a problem as long as in the sharp pressure relief, the pressure never goes below to zero (negative pressure/vacuum).
