Hi,
I am looking at the specifications of the MPX2202GP pressure transducer and it says that the absolute pressure range is 20 kPa to 200 kPa. Does it mean that for gauge pressure (at atmospheric pressure), the maximum value of the sensor is 100 kPa?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Azim
Hi Azim,
The MPX2202A (absolute type) measures an external pressure relative to a pressure reference (vacuum) sealed inside the reference chamber of the die during manufacture. Its minimum operating pressure is 20kPa and maximum 200kPa.
The MPX2202G (gauge type) measures the difference between pressures applied simultaneously to opposite sides of the diaphragm. Typically an ambient atmospheric pressure is applied to the “P2” side through the vent hole in the chip of the differential pressure sensor element. Then the maximum pressure the MPX2202G can measure is 200kPa above the ambient atmospheric pressure.
Best regards,
Tomas
