For MMA685x Accelerometer, what is the maximum junction temperature Tj?  The datasheet lists a Storage Temperature Range of -40C to +125C, but Max Tj is not provided.

Hi Gerard,

I do not have an exact number, but the very low power consumption leads to a negligable increase of the junction temperature (<< 1 °C).

Thank you Tomas for the quick response.

I do not anticipate the device exceeding the Max Tj in our application; the worst case hot operating temperature is around 70°C. However, the Reliability Report I am compiling requires documentation of the manufacturer’s Max Tj for all semiconductor devices and microcircuits in the design.

Since the Max Storage Temperature is listed as 125°C, is it a reasonable to also use this as Freescale’s rating for the Max Tj? If not, can Freescale provide a value for the Max Tj rating?

Hi Gerard,

OK, I need to check on this. I have emailed our apps/design team and will update this thread once I have their answer.

Hi Gerard,

I just got an answer from our apps/design team, the maximum junction temperature Tj is 85 °C.
