FXTH870 - Is it an absolute capacitive pressure sensor?

I just want to find out if this is an absolute capacitive pressure sensor? I currently have one running and with no applied pressure it always says 100 kpa - is this an assumed offset or a true reading? I believe I saw somewhere that one of the variables it transmits is an error flag if the true reading is less than atmospheric, is this correct? I can't seem to find anywhere in the data sheet where it says this is an absolute sensor or not.

Thanks

Hello Syd,

The pressure sensor inside the FXTH87 is an absolute type pressure sensor. Its output (Pout) is converted and internally processed using both the TPMS_READ_PRESSURE and TPMS_COMP_PRESSURE routines resulting in a fixed pressure range of 100kPa to XXXkPa (450, 900 or 1500 depending on the part number).

If Pout < 100kPa, the “underflow” status flag is set and Pcode = 0 (FAULT) as shown in “Pressure Measurement Characteristic” tab of the datasheet.

Best regards,

Tomas
