I would like to obtain the tilt angle using only the Z axis of MMA7361L. After the offset is calibrated at the assembly factory, if the end user uses it for 5 years without recalibrating it, what is the maximum change in tilt angle error?

Thank you for letting me know.
I'm sorry if my initial explanation was insufficient.
I posted on the forum with the intention of using parts I already own.

Hello uchidaJ,

I hope all is great with you. Thank you for using the NXP communities.

It is difficult to know. There are a number of proponents when it comes to offset errors such as trim errors, mechanical stresses due to package and mounting, shifts due to temperature, and of course, aging.

Therefore, I do recommend to perform the calibration procedure periodically.

Please note that the MMA7361L is an obsolete device. Please let me know if you need further information for a replacement device.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

David

Thanks, David.
I understand now that you need to perform the calibration procedure periodically.
Have a nice day.
