Hello,

Customer is implementing the S32K312 for a GM Comet program and they need the new FMEDA metrics with the following Safety Mechanisms removed (Shown Below).  Timing is critical so they need the new metrics as soon as possible. Thanks for your support.

SM1.MBIST

sCheck_SWT

sCheck_Flash (data flash only).

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Dave,

Some points here.

  1. MBIST is not claimed as a safety mechanism in S32K312. We rely on ECC as the primary Safety mechanism on memories.
  2. I have communicated to you the failure rate with the mentioned mechanisms deactivated via the right channels.
  3. However please be aware that this is just another FIT iteration for the customer to get an idea on the metric impact. We would like to reiterate that the FMEDA is only a verification step to ensure we are meeting the metric and not a tool to define the safety concept/architecture

NXP's safety concept assumes that SM2 are implemented. Here as well, we recommend not to disable SM2.

Thanks!
