Hi Berk,
By wrong programming of expected MISR one can force the failure on LBIST.
For MBIST, if error injection is enabled on CM7 memories and you may run MBIST then it fails.
These methods can be used to force an error on LBIST/MBIST and check their reactions.
Thanks!

(S32K396) For example the BIST is mentioned in the reference manual and has its own documentation diving specifically into its references, module configs, and integration parts whereas the EIM is only mentioned in the reference manual. I'm searching for answers for some questions i have regarding the EIM that is not answered in the RM. For example i want to know if the EIM has a specific error that makes it possible to inject where only the BIST can react to. Best Regards!
Hi Berk,
EIM and BIST are two separate components. EIM is used to inject fault at certain specific points which the user application can initiate to check the coverage of certain safety mechanism. The details regarding where this injection is possible or not should be available in the EIM chapter of the Reference Manual only. However, we would suggest you to kindly refer the documentation for SAF available here: S32 Safety Software Framework (SAF) and Safety Peripheral Drivers (SPD) | NXP Semiconductors to see if it further answers your questions.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

What my ideal goal is, was to actually inject a fault/error into a specific point in which only the BIST can react to. The point of this was to confirm is the BIST actually is accurate or not and if it should be in the ECU in the first place after confirming the accuracy of it.

Hello Berk,
Can you please elaborate a little on what is the information on EIM that you require and isn't available in the respective Reference Manual?
Also please let us know the product in question over here.
Thanks!
