FIT Rate

The previously provided spreadsheet of the FIT has not shown information on the FIT rate for the Flash Memory. Could you please provide the FIT rate for the Flash Memory of the FS32K148?

Usage of memory as 128.6Kb of flash memory and 152Kb of RAM memory.

Hi Sergey,

In the spreadsheet provided, the total FIT(λSR) for all the elements is present, which is calculated by adding FIT of all elements.

λSR for an individual element can be calculated as follows:

λSR= (λSPF+λRFor λDU [in 1/h]) +λMPF_detected [in 1/h] + λMPF_undetected [in 1/h]

Ie. λSR= Column E + Column G + Column H

The total FIT for Flash(non-volatile memory) calculated in a similar way comes out to be 3.31863E-09.

This is the total FIT rate when 100% of the flash, ie. 2MB is being used.

To calculate the FIT when 128.6Kb of flash is being used, we can apply the following formula:

FIT for Flash being used= Total FIT/Total Flash size*Flash being used

Total Flash size in S32K148, as mentioned in RM is 2MB ie 2048Kb

Hence,
FIT for 128.6Kb Flash= (3.31863E-09)/2048Kb*128.6Kb
