i am considering about mcu for developing.

and i am looking for s32k314 and s32k344.

i understand s32k314 is single core.

and i understood s32k344 use lockstep core and it is for functional satefy.

1. what is different lockstep core and dual core?

2. Is it true that the lockstep core is used for fault and functional satefy detection?

3. How do I detect faults and functional satefy with a lockstep core?

Hi @rlaxortn

1. Please refer to the following community threads for detailed information on this topic:

2. As explained in the previously shared threads, lockstep cores includes a mechanisms that support fault detection and, consequently, system-level functional safety.

3. Lockstep cores detect faults through continuous comparison of the execution results between redundant cores.

Additionally, we provide software options focused on supporting all Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL) for the development of safety-critical applications. For further information, please refer to Functional Safety Software.
