I would like to use the SBC FS6500 (MC33FS6523CAE) to power the s32k344 172 MaxQFP microcontroller. How can I generate 1.5V on the SBC for the s32k344 core? What is the SBC setting for this voltage level?

Hello Higor,

Thank you for using the NXP communities.

In this case, please follow the formula below for getting the desired voltage:

VCORE = VCORE_FB x ((R3 + R4)/R4).

You may use the KITFS6522LAEEVM as a reference for your design. The schematic is available.

I hope this information helps.

David

Hi David,

Thank you very much for this information. My question would be the compensation network... I kept the same values of capacitors and resistors of the external compensation network (R1, C1, R2, C2) for a Vcore = 1.25V, would there be a problem?

Best regards,

Higor.

Hello Higor,

I hope all is great with you.

In this case, I do recommend using the VCORE regulator.

The FS6500 voltage regulator is a step-down DC–DC converter operating in voltage control mode.

The output voltage is configurable from a 1.0 V to 5.0 V range, and adjustable around these voltages with an external resistor divider (R3/R4) connected between VCORE and the feedback pin (FB_CORE).

Please find further information at chapter 12.7.2.1 from datasheet. The Figure 44 shows the typical VCORE buck regulator configuration.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

David
