I’m trying to run a simple GPIO (LED ON/OFF) test on S32K358EVB-Q289 using MATLAB/Simulink, but the NXP “Blinking LED” example does not work on my board.
Environment
MATLAB: R2022b
Board: S32K3X8EVB-Q289HWUM (S32K358EVB-Q289)
Support package/toolbox: SW32_MBDT_S32K3_1.6.0_D2501.mltbx (license 1.6.0)
Problem
I want to study the GPIO LED blink example provided by NXP. However, MATLAB/Simulink does not provide a target/example specifically for S32K358-Q289.
Steps / symptoms:
Open the NXP provided Blinking LED example model in Simulink.
Press Ctrl+E (Configuration Parameters) and check the hardware settings.
S32K358EVB-Q289 is not available in the hardware board list.
As a workaround, I changed Configuration Project Template to S32K358EVB-Q289 (switch package) (see attached screenshot).
In S32 Config Tool, I configured:
Pins: LED-related pin settings
Peripherals: LED/GPIO related settings
The project builds successfully, but the LED does not toggle on the real board (no blinking).
So the build is OK, but the LED ON/OFF does not work on hardware.
Questions
Is there an official MATLAB/Simulink example project for S32K358-Q289 (S32K358EVB-Q289)? If yes, where can I download/access it?
How should the “Blinking LED” example be adapted to work on S32K358EVB-Q289? Are there required settings (pin mux, clock/init, board init, etc.) that I might be missing?
About the license/toolbox versions: I can find the license/download up to 1.6.0, but I don’t see a license download section for 1.8.0. Is 1.8.0 not available yet, or is it provided in a different place?
