ISELED ADK Interface

Hello,

It is shown in ISELED ADK User Manual 2.1.3 that there is INLC100Q16 on the Power Adapter Board to convert the single ended communication signal between MCU and the device into a differential output signal.

However, the datasheet of Dominant SmartLED (SMRTB-FHG-1250-CS1111) says that the device directly attached to the host does not use the differential line mode on the upstream side, which means two single ended signals from MCU should be connected to SIO1 pins on the LED chip.

Is INLC100Q16 on the adpater board is still necessary? or can be get rid off?

Kind regards,

Nanjun

Hi Nanjun,

I can't find the SMRTB-FHG-1250-CS1111 datasheet.

But anyway, you are right, the single ended connection can be between the MCU and the 1st LED chip.

You can refer to the INLC10AQ datasheet.

In chapter 2 Application, there are a few examples.
As you can see, “the capacitive load that correlates with the cable or trace length of the connection between the first device and the μC has to be minimized.”

The datasheet also states: “If it is not possible to locate the μC closely to the first LED, the INLC100Q can also be used as a converter that is placed near to the μC. The device converts the single ended signal to a differential signal which can be transmitted over longer distances.”

Regards,

Daniel
