Debugging Issue with 3 Decoupled Cores on S32K396 in S32 Design Studio

Hi all,

I’m trying to debug an S32K396 project in S32 Design Studio with 3 decoupled cores. I created a fresh project with cores fully independent (not lockstep), resulting in three separate projects for the three cores.

When I start Group Debug:

• Core 0 and Core 2 connect and halt correctly

• Core 1 fails to connect

Question: Has anyone successfully debugged all three cores independently? Are there recommended steps for gating cores at startup so that the debugger can attach reliably?

I’ve attached a small test project demonstrating the setup. Any guidance on proper MC_ME configuration or debug workflow for decoupled cores would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest referring to the thread “S32K324 Multi-Core Example Project based on Whiteboard”, where the downloadable package S32K324_Multi-Core_Example_RTM_1.0.0.7z is provided.
Inside this package, you will find a document: Multi-Core_Implementation_in_RTD_of_S32K3. This document explain how the multicore architecture works and include detailed instructions on how to build and debug multicore projects.
