ADC averaging and sampling time

Hi 

I am using s32k311 series microcontroller and I am working on ADC peripheral. I want to know the use of  Conversion Timing For Precision Inputs (CTR0) register.

Is it related to configuration of sampling time ? If yes  how to configure sapling time of 1 msec.

Also want to know how averaging is done internally?   

Please give some explanation on this.
