How to use a SEGGER J-Link with S32G Goldbox?

I have opened my S32G Goldbox and connected my SEGGER J-Link, and have created a simple hello world example in S32 Studio, however I don't seem to be able to connect to the J-Link. First of all is it possible to use a SEGGER J-Link with this board and if so, are there any switches that need to be changed on the board?

Hi,

Could you tell us which board/RTD/IDE are you using?

We don't see any information related to J-Link itself. Also, we don't see any information regarding SWD (it seems you are trying to link to the device through this protocol) in the reference manual. Have you tried using JTAG instead of SWD? To which connector you are connecting your device?

The board is the S32G-VNP_GLDBOX and I have opened it and connected my SEGGER J-Link to the 20pin J-Link socket on the board. I have used the S32 Design Studio to create a hello world example for the S32G274A using the first Cortex-M7 device.

If I select JTAG or SWD, it connects correctly to my SEGGER J-Link, but still reports the following:

J-Link GDB Server failed:
Could not connect to target. Please check if target is powered and if ribbon cable is plugged properly.

This is why I was thinking that maybe the SEGGER J-Link is not supported or maybe some switches need to be set. I have searched the web and can't find any information on how to use the J-Link.

As you are implying, there is no support for J-Link (at this moment) for S32G devices.

Hi, 

Does Gold box support Lauterbach for debugging A53 and M7? I see there are  2 ports for Jtag 1. SJA1110 JTAG Port and S32G JTAG Port. Please share the details.
