Flashing binary to S32G2 GoldBox

Hello,
we have application software based on S32DS RTD. We are currently conducting HIL tests and will prepare for vehicle integration.
We tried using the debug probe to run the SW on the goldbox, then boot from the eMMc external flash, then the SD card...

The problem is that it is now not allowed to flip switches or remove the SD card during testing.
I have a request from a supervisor to upload and run a binary via serial boot directly into non-volatile internal memory, but I can't find a way to do this. So I'm asking if anyone can think of a solution.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best Regards

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

For what we understand, you might require an external circuit that changes the boot of your board. There is also the possibility of selecting the Serial RCON mode for reading the RCON configuration [Page 1320, S32G2 Reference Manual, Rev. 7, February 2023].

Since the configuration is saved under an external memory (i.e. EEPROM), you should be able to modify the configuration without the need of moving switches.

Please, let us know.

Hi,

We may be misunderstanding your request. If so, we apologize.

There is an NXP tool by the name "S32 Flash Tool", which lets you flash your external device with the S32G set as serial boot. Is this similar to what you are looking for? The restrictions that may have is the available algorithms by default. You should be able to add new algorithms if required, but this is to be done by the developer.

This tool is available as a bundle under S32DS installation, and should be available under the following path:

"C:\nxp\S32DS.3.4\S32DS\tools\S32FlashTool\GUI"

Please, let us know.

Hello,
I am already successfully using the flash tool GUI. The problem is that after flashing I have to manipulate the switches on the board to boot the uploaded binaries. I need to avoid that switching.
